Stabilised Turquoise 5x10mm (Approx) Chip Beads ~80cm/30" Strand.
Turquoise meaning "Turkish Stone" comes from European markets in the Middle Ages, who received it from Turkish traders who brought it from Persia. These are a natural form of turquoise that has a soft consistency. It must undergo a stabilsation process to make it suitable for use. The process involves adding dye and resin, under pressure, this absorbs into the rock hardening and enhancing the colour. Most Turquoise available today has been stabilised.
