Yooperlite is a trade name for a syenite rock containing fluorescent sodalite, first widely identified along the shores of Lake Superior (USA). While it appears grey to light brown with dark speckling under normal light, Yooperlite is best known for its bright orange to yellow fluorescence under UV light, caused by the sodalite content.
These round beads are polished to a smooth finish and drilled through the centre, making them suitable for jewellery making, beadwork, and craft projects. Each bead displays natural variation in colour and pattern, reflecting the stone’s igneous origin.
